Telecast of Tebaldi's Aida, Paris 1959

In 1959 Tebaldi sung Aida in Paris. For many years we knew that the third act was televised, but the recording was not available, apart from the aria 'O patria mia' which some collectors had on video, in poor quality. Now the French Institut National de l'Audiovisuel (INA) has remastered the telecast and made it available commercially. It can be bought and downloaded from their web site (www.ina.fr) for only 4 euros (about 5 USD).

It has also appeared on YouTube, see the links below. For a full-screen version that can be watched on your computer anytime, or burned on a DVD and watched on a regular DVD player (your player needs to be DivX enabled though!), pay the nominal fee and get it from the INA site. If your French is poor, e-mail me and I'll do my best to walk you through the process.
